The GK 8 (Bruin, Grizzly Bear and Ursus) occurrences are located on a generally north-south trending ridge approximately 10 kilometres east of Tahltan Lake.

The area is underlain by marine sedimentary and volcanic rocks of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group which has been intruded by a pluton of Triassic to Jurassic diorite to granodiorite.

Locally, three zones, referred to as the Bruin, Grizzly Bear and Ursus zones, of mineralization have been identified.

The Grizzly Bear and Bruin zones comprise quartz veins with gold and copper values, while the Ursus zone comprises a dike and a zone of hornfels with associated copper and gold values.

In 2018, sampling of the zones yielded up to 0.20 gram per tonne gold and 2.31 per cent copper from a float sample from the Grizzly Bear zone, 0.62 gram per tonne gold and 0.24 per cent copper over 1.4 metres from the Bruin zone and 0.44 gram per tonne gold with 1.22 per cent copper from outcrop on the Ursus zone (Pautler, J. (2019-05-31): Technical Report on the GK Project).

The area has been explored in conjunction with the nearby Winter Creek (MINFILE 104G 003) occurrence and a completed regional exploration history can be found there.
